Aviation Training School

Retaining The Spirit

Jaffie Powered by Incomar

When the need for training pilot students became clear in Robertson, Oom Koos Liebenberg, a retired headmaster from Tulbagh High School, founded Jaffie (SACAA/1201/ATO). Named after the donkey in the book penned by renowned Afrikaans writer, Eitemal, the school was founded on the same humility, honesty and hard-working attributes. Oom Koos served for 28 years in the SAAF as a citizen pilot on Harvards and Impalas and the teaching of flight skills made it a natural fit.
At the age of 80 years and with over 60 years as a pilot, Oom Koos looked for a partner that could take over the legacy of Jaffie and he connected with Chairperson and Founder of Incomar, Johannes Joubert. In January 2023, Johannes bought the school with three aircraft and a hangar. It is the firm intention of Incomar to retain the spirit of Jaffie.
